My Amazing Zigzag Journey
I never brought this up to the people close to me, not even to the people whose with me during those times. It was just amazing that I got to chat today, one of the persons that contributed to my growth while I was walking on that journey and we got to talk and share a few insights about the past.
It was a year that had passed since I left this community. It says "The community that works for all." I won't mention its name anymore for some reason that may not be related anymore why I decided to share it now.
Anyhow... It's also today that I got to remember this amazing group, and posted pictures of us to one of my albums in FB. And as I watch those pictures, I got to reflect on it, remember the times when I'm with them, when I was still dreaming for a lot of things...
When I joined them, I got to gave up my employment, my studies, my title, even my service to church... and my self. Yes, my old self. I gave up a lot of me so I can replace it with new ones - new visions, new habits, new outlook, new mind-set. But then, along with those new ones come a lot of courage, painful sacrifice, losing my pride, countless hardships, and the list goes on.
For many, this experience may be a bad thing for them. Someone even asked me if I had regrets on joining them. Well, it maybe that way for some, but not for me.
Despite of all the painful experience I got during that 3-year journey, the lessons it left me were all priceless. That if I look back on it and compared it to my other journey, light journeys, it may take me decades to learn all those lessons or worst, I might not learn them at all. And I feel blessed that it only took me 3 years! That part is already amazing! :)
If I would mention one by one all those lessons I got from what I call my 'zigzag journey', this post would be like a book with a number of chapters. LOL! Anyways, I can share a few...
- there's nothing permanent in life, only change
- yourself is your best asset, make it count and make time to invest on it
- detachment to anything is the key to freedom
- true and sincere love cannot be measured
- be honest and true to yourself always or else, you may sabotage it when difficult time arises
- if you want change, be watchful on everything you do, you say, and think
- time is the most expensive commodity, be sure to exchange it with meaningful stuff
- experience life. cherish every single moment as they won't pass your way again.
- true happiness cannot be acquired from an external source. it can be found inside your heart.
- sometimes, you just have to experience things to understand it well and to learn the real meaning of it.
- life has full of ups and downs, accept it, go with the flow but be mindful with the lessons.
- and the list goes on... :)
That journey may not brought me to where I want to be but it lead me somehow to where I supposed to be. It didn't make me the person I want to become but it helped me find the person inside me whom I was longing to meet for so long. It may not be an awesome, lovely, extravagant journey but it has momentous stuff that I need to experience for me to understand life more deeply. It's like... a bridge to an awesome world!
Before I end this note, let me share you this one nice shot from one of our gatherings. It reminds me how each gathering touched me, surprised me, mold me and let me think about the things I never thought of thinking before...

A Note To My Dad
Dear Papa,
I learned things from you when...
... you give me one peso everyday as I ask to buy that sweet scramble shake from the vendor that crosses our house every afternoon when I was still a little girl --- it taught me that love is consistent and sweet.
... you take overtime at work despite sickness so that I'll be able to pay for my tuition fee next week --- it taught me that life is give and take: when you give your best to life, life brings you the best.
... you greet every person you know every time you cross on them just by calling their name and they will respond the same --- it taught me that friends are everywhere, you just have to be first a friend to them.
... you gain customers easily not because you market yourself publicly but because of your quality work --- it taught me that things come to you easily by what you give.
... you admit your mistake and tell the whole truth --- it taught me that honesty sets not just you but also the other person, free from doubts of you.
... you don't throw broken stuff at home easily but fix it first and wait for the time until it shows its worth --- it taught me to be patient and kind even if things seem to be on its worst.
You didn't tell it directly, you didn't teach me things by words, you did it by action.
For all your hard work, your love, your care, your understanding and kindness to the whole family, thank you so much. I'm thankful to God for giving me a father and a hero in one. I love you po.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
Happy Birthday, Mama!
Tomorrow is my dearest mother's birthday. I just want to greet her in advance because I won't be able to be with her on her special day because tomorrow is also my flight going to my mother's province, with my brother and his wife, my cousin and his wife and me and myself (lol!). We'll be attending our cousin's wedding there so it's gonna be a one special trip.
And because I won't be able to be whole day present for her tomorrow, I did something that will still let her feel my warmest greeting for her.
This is not actually my masterpiece but since it's Mama's one favorite dessert, I made it for her and gave my best to make it special!
And the preparation goes...

And after a few minutes, here's the result. I know it looks yummy on photo but wait 'til you taste it! Well, since it's from a labor of love, expect it to be the best! LOL!
After all the preparation, Mama requested it to be in plastic before refrigerate. Weird, right? LOL! Well, it is because she witnessed from one of the occasions she attended that it is more yummy when freezed and this was the way they made it be freezed easier. Well, since this is all for her, so her wish is my command. :)
Happy Birthday, Mama! I pray that God grant you healthy body, peaceful mind, joyful heart and a bountiful blessings in life! I love you po.
And now, it's time for me to pack my things up for my tomorrow's flight. Happy trip for us and Happy birthday to Mama! :)
A Note to My Mom
I have shared this before and I'd like to share it once again. Just so grateful for having a Mom like her... :)
To my wonderful Mom:
You know how much I love U. I may not always say it nor tell it straight to you, but I really appreciate it:
- when u arrange my clothes after I mess it
- how u maintain the flowers in my room
- when u fix my clothes from slit
- whenever you send me messages making sure how things goin' on
- when you cook food especially when you anticipate your children is coming over to our home
- being more excited than me when my friends are coming over to our house
- making sure my things (bags, slippers, etc.) are clean and ready to use anytime
- making sure my room is locked before you go to bed
- how you take care of my father
- how you take care of me when I'm sick
- how you listen to my unspoken words
- and a lot more...
There are so many things I am grateful for having you as my Mom! Thank God for giving me a superwoman like you in my life... I love you so much!

A Story from my 4-yr Old Nephew
My niece, Tamara (2yo) and her brother, Enzo (4yo) usually visit me here at my small office room at home time after time. Yesterday (April 24, 2012), after their siesta time, my nephew told me a very short story. He didn't tell me where it came from but I felt on his story how clear it is for him.
Sabi n'ya, na medyo bubulol-bulol pa, with matching actions, "Tita Beck-Beck, atingala ako apos kita kita, alis ka na, punta ka na langit sama mo Jesus apos may mga angel pa. Lipad ka na alis na kayo dun na kayo langit."
Though, it's not already the exact order of words but that's how his short story went through. :)
I asked him, "Gusto mo ba alis na lang ako, dun na lang ako?" And without hesitation, he answered, "oo, dun ka na."
Well, maybe he had a dream. I don't know and I'm not sure if he knows the idea of a dream already at his age. But as he told that story, I was amazed how he made that picture in his mind so sudden. And for him to answer my question without hesitation, that he wants me to be there, my interpretation is, maybe he also felt how wonderful that place is. :)
Yes, I'm glad to hear it. The thought that I'll be with Jesus someday, (we never know when would that be), feels so great and much joy to my heart. Nothing compares it when your ultimate dream would likely to happen.

Lord, thank you for giving me another year to live. For the things unseen and seen that You have done in my life, Thank you. And mostly I am thankful for the relationship that I have with You.
Lord, words do not express my thankfulness. For Your mighty power is at work in me, transforming me, renewing my mind. To You Lord belong thanks eternal.
